The Talk To method for revising your paper was pretty ineffective for me. I personally felt like I had a hard time getting myself into character and when I would usually be able to look at my writing subjectively, I found myself focused more on, and struggling with, trying to pick apart my writing. Maybe it was the pressure of becoming both the teacher and the peer whilst looking at extremist points of view for the piece overall. I don't know I guess I would say it wasn't really for me.
As opposed to the Talk To technique I prefer looking at my writing line by line or jumbling it up. I also have never had an issue with self criticism and I naturally look at my writing as though it is not mine because as was mentioned in a lecture previously, I am a different person and writer now than I was even just typing out my first paragraph in this journal.
I don't feel as confident with what I came up with in my Talk To so I went back and used other techniques. Similar to a peer review, I asked my significant other to take a look over my paper because he will never give me a bias answer. I also digested my paragraphs one at a time, returning back multiple times.
I think my biggest revision plan is going to be fine tooth combing each paragraph to make sure that they cohesively flow with one another. I decided to not just do the minimum requirements for the paper and instead I wrote and analyzed everything I found to be a solid topic or sub topic within my lists. I feel that as long as I make sure everything is well put together the paper will be very strong and give a great context analysis of Instagram as a platform for communication.
